1968 Honda 50 Cub C100 PDF Print E-mail

thumb-1First imported to the U.S. in 1959, this little bike was responsible for Honda owning 60% of the total motorcycle market by 1964. Marketed with the slogan, "You meet the nicest people on a Honda", it sold to people who never owned a motorcycle before. This particular bike was given away in a radio station promotion in 1968 and the winner put 38 miles on it before storing it in a basement in Harrisonburg, PA. In 2001 this is how we found it, with owners manual and helmet. All Original!

1965 Honda CL77 305 Scrambler PDF Print E-mail

thumb-1Manufactured from 1965 to 1968, the scrambler was first built with a 250cc engine and in 1965 the 305 was introduced using the same engine found on the Dream and Superhawk. It is a 4 stroke OHC wet sump parallel twin with dual carbs.  The transmission is a four speed. The colors available were Blue, Red and balck, all had Silver tank, side covers and fenders. The hardest part to find for restorations is the two into one muffler at the end of the exhausts. It was common in the 60's to take the muffler off (throw it away) and add butterfly "Snuff-nots" to the end of the straight pipes.  We have both with this bike!  This bike was restored by Ryan Cross of North Vernon, Indiana.

1969 Kawasaki H1 Mach III 500 PDF Print E-mail
thumb-1The Kawasaki H1 was the bike that changed the course of motorcycle high-performance. The three-cylinder, 500cc two-stroke power plant had a hard-hitting 60 horsepower and became teh quickest production motorcycle ever produced as it blistered the quarter mile in 12.8 seconds at 99.5MPH right out of the dealers crate!  It sold new for $999.00. The owner of our dealership had one of these in 1969 and sold it in 1972 to pay the hospital bill when his daughter was born.  Last year he found this and did a total restoration.

1964 Honda CA77 305 Dream Touring PDF Print E-mail

thumb1The 305 Dream Touring as sold between 1959 and 1969. It featured a 305cc OHC, wet sump parallel twin engine with a single carb and a four speed transmission.  The most common comment when people see one today is, "it was a lot larger bike back then".  By today's standards it is small, but it was a much sought after bike back in the 60's and today as a collectors bike.  This 305 was restored here at Southside Honda and looks, starts and runs like the day it came off a showroom floor.  We have traced this bike back and it was originally sold in Morgan City, Louisiana.
